Yay! Your subscription has been set up successfully! We know you’re gonna love learning how to become an ID Freelancer. But first – follow these steps to get you started!
Step 1: Update your profile
Select the profile option to make sure your first name, last name, and nick name are all listed. And, of course, we’d love to see your beautiful face – so upload your favorite profile pic! We know, this isn’t Facebook – but hey, we still wanna be ID freelie friends!
Step 2: Check out all the learning modules
Select the Learn tab to view the ever-growing library of modules, lessons, and topics to help you run your own ID freelance business. We’ll keep adding new stuff to this menu. Why? Because why not! Is there ever an end to learning?
Step 3: Find out more about IDLance
Who the heck is behind all this cool stuff? Just a couple of ordinary freelancers like the rest of you. No, we’re not THOSE “superstar” instructional designers who have 10,000 followers or 100,000 views per month. But we DO have lots of cool experiences to share to make your transition to freelance life easier and fun! PLUS you get to join a community of many more experienced learning professionals to give each other ongoing support!
Step 4: Find some opportunities (aka “gigs”)
Select this tab to keep an eye open for freelance gigs posted by your own community members. When you hear of an opportunity to share, post it! We’re here to support each other so we can pay our own bills… plus the pizza and ice cream!
Step 5: Download some templates
We have some templates for you! Need a little kick start on cold calls, pricing projects, or creating budgets? Or more? These templates are not one-size-fits-all solutions, but they can help you get over the “I don’t know what to do next” hump. Try them out and see for yourself!
Step 6: Keep an eye on upcoming events
That constant refinement of our ID craft is hard work, but attending some events can be a refreshing way to learn new techniques and talk with other IDs who have “been there done that.” Check them out and continue your professional development!
